The most famous battle involving Arminius occurred at Teutoburg Forest. During the course of this massacre, three entire Roman legions were wiped out, and the Imperial eagles, the sacred aquila standards of each legion, were captured. As part of an auxiliary unit, Arminius probably had a standard; whether he wielded it or not is another question.
