God of theatre, wine, and... fertility, Dionysus the Twice-born was a popular deity throughout the West. Though we know him from Greek mythology, he probably starting elsewhere. He spread through Mesopotamia and the Roman Empire, and still hangs around to inspire poets, artists, and performers.

- The City Dionysia was a massive festival in honor of Dionysus; one of the main events was the drama contest.
- Dionysus is the star of The Frogs, an ancient comedy where the god goes to the underworld to bring back a master tragedian; this is necessary because all the contemporary ones blow.
- In Roman mythology, he's known as Bacchus, and his parties are even more ot of control.
