Horemheb the Restorer

Page history last edited by PBworks 17 years, 5 months ago

After the revolutionary (yet disastrous) religious and political reforms of Akhenaten, Egypt needed a pharaoh who could restore the kingdom's glory. After a couple of false starts, Horemheb stepped in to become just that pharaoh.

History in Brief

Anachronism Package Blurb

Rising in status from a lowly officer in the Egyptian army, Horemheb served as the Great Commander of the Army under Akhenaten and Tutankhamun before becoming the last pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty. His conquests against the Hittites in Syria gave rise to his fame and legend and he ascended to the throne of Egypt through his skill and ambition, with not a drop of royal blood in his veins. Wielding the wicked Khopesh sword, Horemheb gives praise to Horus, the god of kings on earth. In return, Horus has gifted him with an Udjat Eye, giving Horemheb great vitality and endurance. With divine protection fused to mortal ambition, who can oppose Horemheb in the Anachronism™ arena?

Trivia

Horemheb...

  • means "Horus in jubilation"; Anachronism players are in jubilation when they play Horemheb, and an Aether inspiration (like Horus) is in play.
  • restored more than the old gods. He reformed the military, cleaned up government corruption, and constructed numerous temples.
