From the FAQ
Loki and discarding cards
•If either player discards the weapon they received from Loki due to a card ability (such as Horn Bow, Khutga, or other cards like Merlin), that card will not be returned to its original owner at the end of the round. The other weapon affected by Loki at the start of the round will still be returned. Note that discarded cards are always placed in their owner's discard pile.
Horn Bow
•The 'Nis' ability of the Egyptian Weapon Horn Bow, as printed, has no trigger. This ability is an 'Action' ability.
(The original texts reads - "Nis: You may discard a face-up non-ranged weapon you own to put this card into play from your discard pile.")
History in Brief
Bows in Ancient Egypt
As the card explains, the Horn Bow derives its names from its make-up. This type of bow was used primarily before the Dynastic period in Egypt. By the time of Seti I, composite bows had been introduced (most likely by the Hyksos occupation during the Second Intermediate Period). Despite the new technology, rulers occasionallly preferred to use old-school bows. In addition, due to the composite bow's expense and lack of durability, the common archer often used older models.
