Istanbul

Page history last edited by MindBomber 16 years, 8 months ago

When Mehmed II, the Conqueror, captured Constantinople in 1453, the official name (allegedly) became Islambol. However, the old nickname for The City stuck, becoming official in the 20th century -- İstanbul.

Card Text

(8) İstanbul (Earth)

TurkishInspirationLocation

Tartisma - Reveal: You may discard a location. If you do not, choose an opponent. That opponent's rolls get -1 this round.

Yeni san: All of your attack rolls that are made "at +0" are made at +2 instead.

"If one had but a single glance to give the world, one should gaze on Istanbul." - Alphonse de Lamartine

Tournament Promo

İstanbul was the tournament participation card in July of 2007.

Rulings

  • The Yeni san ability specifically replaces the bonus of attacks made "at +0" (such as with Shurikan). It does not affect attacks whose overall modifier is +0.

History in Brief

İstanbul (not Constantinople)

{coming eventually}

Trivia

  • One theory of the city's name is that it's the bastardization of the Greek phrase "to the City."
