In his first go-around as the leader of the Ottoman Empire, Mehmed II wasn't exactly impressing his subjects and advisors. With politcal pressure mounting, the young sultan sent his father, Murad II, a letter. In this missive, Mehmed exhorted his father to return to the throne and lead the Ottoman troops in the Battle of Varna.
