Mikinaikos Thorakas

Page history last edited by MindBomber 16 years, 10 months ago

Though the title is Greek for "Mycenaean Armor," the flavor text refers to Agamemnon's brilliant armor. According to Homer, it was a gift from the king of Cyprus, and turned a deadly spear attack.

Card Text

(4) Mikinaikos Thorakas

GreekArmorTorso

Dipsa gia Ekdikisi: After you are hit by an attack with a damage bonus, the attacker becomes your rival until the end of your next turn.

Stirixi: Before you are dealt damage from an attack, you may discard this card. If you do, that attack and the next attack against you deal -1 damage, to a minimum of 1.

Given to Agamemnon as a gift, his cuirass had ten bands of dark enamel, twelve of gold, and twenty of tin. Dark blue serpents, three on either side, arched towards the neck.

Trivia

  • The only full surviving example of this type of armor is the Dendra Panoply, a 15-piece work in bronze that would've made it's wearer into a human tank.
