Pieces of Eight

Page history last edited by MindBomber 16 years, 4 months ago

"Pieces of Eight" is the popular term for the coins minted by the Spanish government, worth eight reales. Thanks to Spain's maritime capabilities, these coins were used across the world. Such international use made them ripe for targeting by pirates - leading to the phrase's popularity among pirate folklore.

Card Text

(1) Pieces of Eight

BritonPirateSpecialItemQuest

Treasure Hunt: Each time you tie a roll with an opponent, place a counter on this card. While this card has any counters, your attack rolls gain +1.

Greed: At the start of any round, you may remove a counter from this card. If you do, an opponent of your choice is your rival for that round.

Asked by one of his crew where his treasure hoard was buried, Blackbeard bellowed that only he “...and the devil knew where it was, and the longest liver shall take it.”
