The shamshir is one of the many descendents of the Turko-Mongol saber, a curved Persian sword akin to the Saif and Kilij varieties.

Shamshir was the tournament organizer card in December of 2007.

 

Status of Set 8

Note: This card was never printed. The final version from the design team has been spoiled to players on the Anachronism forums. There's no telling whether or not this card will be printed, and if it were, that it'd have the same text as the spoiled version.

 

Since it was never printed, the card was 'released' as a text spoiler, accompanied by player-created card proxies. Thus, the ability title, art, flavor text, and card number were created by players, to accompany the card text from the design team.
