Srqt, the Scorpion King

Page history last edited by PBworks 17 years, 3 months ago

King Scorpion is a very early Egyptian ruler. Known only through depictions on a mace and some graffiti, Srqt (Serket) may have unified the Upper and Lower Kingdoms into one Egypt. This may make him the same person as Narmer or Menes. Or, he may have been the predecessor of either of those unifiers. Maybe King Scorpion started the task, and a successor finished the job.

Basically, we really don't know much about ol' Srqt.

History in Brief

Anachronism Package Blurb

"Nearly legendary even to the people of the Old Kingdom, Srqt ruled all of Egypt before the dynasties of the pharaohs. He led his armies to conquer all of the surrounding nations and his subjects lived in a time of prosperity and wealth. Wielding spear and mace, Srqt brings his legacy of power and skill to the Anachronism™ arena. He is once again ready for battle, this time to face off against the upstart warriors who have followed in his wake and emerge victorious."

Trivia

Srqt, the Scorpion King...

  • takes his name from the goddess Serket, a minor but noteworthy Egyptian entity. A deification of the deadly scorpion, she was sometimes invoked by pharaohs as a protector goddess.
  • has an interesting pack, historically. We know very little about the warrior, but all his support cards represent common images from Predynastic Egypt.
  • was portrayed on the silver screen by the Rock. But you knew that already.
