Sverd

Page history last edited by MindBomber 17 years, 2 months ago

Though it's a regular old sword, Sverd has been one of the most-used weapons in the game. Especially considering it's been around before Set 1 even came out.

Card Text

(8) Sverd (2)

______

NorseWeaponSword (1 Hand)

Decisive Blow: Once per turn, after one of your attacks with this weapon is a critical hit, you may attack again with this weapon without spending an additional action.

Forged twisted rods of hard and soft iron make this sword flexible and highly durable.

Illus.: Alan Pollack • Set 1 • 73/100

Warrior Pack

Sverd comes with the Beowulf vs. Miyamoto Musashi demo kit.

From the QCT

Take either weapon:

Cutlasses with a rival, or Pou Whenua.

If I use the ACTION ability to make an attack with either weapon, what happens if my opponent has Vlad's Armor?

Some people argue that the attack fizzles because the effect of the attack is nullified.

Others argue that the attack is already in progress and it is too late to stop and so the attack goes through as normal.

Pieptarul will not stop an attack from completing, even if that attack was created by a card ability. Reactionary card abilities that create attacks are also not stopped by this armor, unless they are like Sverd - Weapon cards that create attacks during other attacks by the same player.

Trivia

  • Sverd is Norwegian for "sword."
  • Beowulf has another sword found in Anachronism: the promo card, Naegling.
  • Because it was part of the demo kits that were released prior to Set 1, Sverd's appearance and numbering are different from most Anachronism cards.
