The Egyptians were one of the four cultures released in Set 2 of Anachronism. There was also a dual-culture "Roman • Egyptian" card in Set 8.
Brief History
Ancient Egypt was the dynastic kingdom that flourished for millennia along the banks of the Nile River. Prior to the dynasties, Egypt was divided into Upper (southern) and Lower (northern) kingdoms. Though the archaeological record goes further back, the traditional year of Egypt's founding was 3100 BCE. It is believed that in said year, a king of Upper Egypt united the two kingdoms into one. This ruler is thought to be Narmer, or Menes the Uniter. These may be the same individual, or not; such a distinction is still being debated.
Up until the end of the Ptolemaic Period (with the death of Cleopatra in 30 BCE), Egypt was one of the foremost powers in the ancient world, and one that left many records for posterity. Popularly, Ancient Egypt is known for the Pyramids at Giza and the Sphinx, the divine Pharaohs (though the term was not used in that way until the New Kingdom era), and mummies. The last item is a reflection of the highly-developed mythology of death and rebirth that influenced much of Egyptian culture.

Trivia
- Egypt has four primary creation myths; depending on which city you visited, the kingdom was founded by Atum, Thoth, Khnum, or Ptah.
- Many of the Egyptian names we're familar with are the Greek versions. For example, it is speculated that the Greek translation of Hewet-ka-Ptah ("Temple of the Spirit of Ptah") was Aeguptos. This word may have been the root for the modern-day name, Egypt.
