How do these interact?

•'Setting' initiative works just like 'setting' an attack roll. If the act of setting the value occurs after bonuses are applied (as happens in this case, since the +2 from Fei applies when the card comes into play), the bonus is counted, and not reapplied after the value is set.

•If you played a 6 initiative card with the above cards in play, it would gain +2 from Fei, then be set to 6 (and stay at 6) by Devorah.

History in Brief

Anachronism Package Blurb

"A butcher by trade, the massive and powerful Zhang Fei became one of the greatest heroes of the Warring Kingdoms Period in China. The second of the Five Tiger Generals of Shu, and the sworn brother of Liu Bei and Guan Yu, Zhang Fei’s personal courage was beyond compare. At the Battle of Chang Ban Bridge, he rode out single-handedly against a Wei army of 10,000 men, and challenged any who wanted to take the bridge to fight him. None dared accept, and all fell back at his words. A fierce warrior and general, Zhang Fei was known to show little respect to his subordinates, a failing that earned reproval from Liu Bei.

Loyal and fierce, Zhang Fei demands the respect of those beneath him. Use his power and skill to overwhelm all those who stand before you in the Anachronism arena, and show who deserves the most respect of all."

Trivia

  • Not only did Zhang Fei's treatment of subordinates earn him reproval, it was his death; two subordinates assassinated Zhang Fei in his sleep.
  • In Chinese theatre, Zhang Fei is a popular character, depicted as a powerful warrior.
  • Like all other Chinese warriors in Set 6, Zhang Fei can be found in Luo Guanzhong's Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and Koei's Dynasty Warriors video game series.
